Bev Land is an American filmmaker, writer, producer, and former actor best known for directing the 2017 horror film Lycan. He is also widely recognized for his marriage to actress Dania Ramirez, with whom he has twins. Before becoming better known as a filmmaker, Land appeared in several early-2000s projects, including Face the Music, All Over the Guy, and Social Misfits.

Although Bev Land has worked in the entertainment industry for years, he has maintained a considerably lower public profile than his wife. Much of the public interest surrounding his biography comes from his filmmaking career, his previous marriage to actress Sharon Leal, and his family life with Dania Ramirez.

Quick Facts About Bev Land

Who Is Bev Land?

Bev Land is an American filmmaker whose professional credits include directing, writing, producing, and acting. His most prominent directing credit is Lycan, an independent horror film released in 2017. Entertainment databases also credit him with the short film What Are the Odds and three early acting appearances.

Land’s public profile increased significantly after his relationship with Dania Ramirez became known. Ramirez is an actress recognized for projects including Heroes, Devious Maids, X-Men: The Last Stand, American Reunion, and Sweet Tooth. The couple married in February 2013 and have remained together publicly since then.

Where Was Bev Land Born?

Bev Land was born in Columbus, Georgia, United States, although detailed information about his childhood and early family life is limited in reliable public reporting. His full name is John Beverly Amos Land, a name that has appeared in entertainment coverage surrounding both his career and his marriage to Dania Ramirez.

Some online biographies publish an exact birth date and calculate an age for Land, but the available information is inconsistent. A 2013 report about his wedding described him as 35, while other websites list different dates. Because of those discrepancies, an exact date of birth and precise age should not be treated as firmly established.

How Old Is Bev Land?

Bev Land’s exact date of birth has not been consistently verified across reliable public sources. In February 2013, Us Weekly described him as 35 years old, which places his birth year approximately around 1977 or 1978.

Several online biography sites publish October 16, 1977, as his birthday, but that information is not sufficiently corroborated by authoritative public records. For that reason, it is more accurate to describe his age cautiously rather than present one disputed birth date as fact.

Bev Land’s Early Interest in Filmmaking

Land’s career history suggests that filmmaking became a serious interest well before he became publicly recognized as a director. A biographical profile associated with his entertainment record states that he began experimenting with writing, directing, and editing films while he was young. It also identifies Los Angeles as the place where he pursued his interest in the film business.

His early career appears to have developed through a combination of acting and behind-the-scenes work. This is important because Land was not simply an actor who later received a directing credit; his public credits show involvement in several different parts of production.

Did Bev Land Study Film?

Public biographical material identifies Bev Land with the UCLA film school, although detailed information about his education is not widely documented by major entertainment publications. Because his professional background is strongly associated with filmmaking, film training is frequently mentioned in biographies about him.

His career also included experience working around established film and television productions. That type of exposure helped provide a foundation for his later work as a writer, director, and producer.

Bev Land’s Acting Career

Before concentrating more heavily on filmmaking, Bev Land appeared as an actor in several projects released around the beginning of the 2000s.

His documented acting credits include:

These credits are listed by major entertainment databases, which identify Land as an actor in all three productions.

Rather than building a long mainstream acting career, Land eventually became more closely associated with writing, producing, and directing. His later credits show a clear movement toward work behind the camera.

What Movies Has Bev Land Directed?

Bev Land is credited as the director of What Are the Odds and Lycan. The former is a short film, while the latter is his best-known feature-length directing project.

What Are the Odds

What Are the Odds is a short comedy written and directed by Bev Land. The story follows a man who discovers that a fortune cookie prediction could potentially help him deal with a gambling debt and his complicated circumstances. Jon Abrahams is among the performers associated with the project.

There is some variation in public listings concerning the film’s year, with different biographical records associating it with the early 2000s and film databases listing it as 2004. The important point is that the project represents one of Land’s early documented directing and writing efforts.

Lycan

Lycan is Bev Land’s most significant publicly documented feature-film project. Released in 2017, the horror film follows six college students who travel into the Georgia backwoods while researching the legend of the Talbot County werewolf.

Land served in several important roles on the production. He directed the movie, co-wrote it with Michael Mordler, and was also credited as a producer. Dania Ramirez appeared in the film as Isabella Cruz, making the project particularly notable in the couple’s shared professional history.

The cast also included Jake Lockett, Rebekah Graf, Parker Croft, Craig Tate, Kalia Prescott, Vanessa Angel, Gail O’Grady, and others. Lycan was released in the United States in 2017 and runs for approximately 87 minutes.

Bev Land’s Career as a Writer and Producer

Land’s career cannot be defined solely by directing. His credits show involvement as a writer and producer as well.

For Lycan, he shared screenplay credit with Michael Mordler and was one of the film’s producers. This combination of responsibilities demonstrates his involvement across multiple stages of independent film production.

His work therefore spans several areas of filmmaking:

• Acting
• Screenwriting
• Directing
• Producing
• Independent film development

That range helps explain why entertainment databases generally identify him as an actor, director, writer, and producer rather than assigning him to only one profession.

Who Is Bev Land’s Wife?

Bev Land’s wife is actress Dania Ramirez. The couple married on February 16, 2013, in the Dominican Republic. Their wedding took place after their engagement, which was publicly announced in early 2012.

Ramirez has built her own career in television and film, appearing in productions such as Heroes, Devious Maids, The Sopranos, Entourage, American Reunion, and X-Men: The Last Stand. Her professional success has made Land more familiar to entertainment audiences, but he also has an independent history in filmmaking.

How Did Bev Land Meet Dania Ramirez?

Dania Ramirez has described meeting Bev Land as an immediate and meaningful connection. In coverage surrounding their engagement, she recalled meeting him through a mutual friend and quickly becoming interested in him after they began talking.

Their relationship progressed relatively quickly. They became engaged in 2011, with the engagement publicly reported in January 2012, and married the following year.

Their relationship has remained one of the most searched aspects of Bev Land’s personal life because Ramirez is the more publicly visible member of the couple.

Bev Land and Dania Ramirez’s Marriage

Bev Land and Dania Ramirez married on February 16, 2013, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The wedding received entertainment-media coverage because Ramirez was already a recognizable television and film actress and Land was known professionally as a director and writer.

The marriage also created a blended family. Land already had a son from his earlier marriage to actress Sharon Leal, while he and Ramirez later welcomed twins together.

Who Was Bev Land’s First Wife?

Bev Land was previously married to actress Sharon Leal. The two shared a son, Kai Miles Land, who was born in September 2001.

Public sources differ regarding the exact year of Land and Leal’s divorce. Some records cite 2007, while other reporting gives 2009 or later. The reliable point is that their marriage ended before Land’s marriage to Dania Ramirez in 2013.

Leal has had a substantial entertainment career of her own, including work in Dreamgirls, This Christmas, Why Did I Get Married?, Guiding Light, and Supergirl. Her connection to Land is therefore part of a wider Hollywood family history.

Does Bev Land Have Children?

Yes. Bev Land has three children: one son from his previous marriage to Sharon Leal and twins with Dania Ramirez. His oldest child is Kai Miles Land, while his younger children are twins John Aether Ramirez Land and Gaia Jissel Ramirez Land.

Kai was born in September 2001. Land and Ramirez later welcomed their twins on December 17, 2013.

This makes Bev Land’s family a blended Hollywood household involving two actresses and children from different stages of his life.

Bev Land and His Children

Land has generally kept his family life more private than many celebrity spouses. Nevertheless, the births of his children have been publicly documented because of their connection to Sharon Leal and Dania Ramirez.

The twins, John Aether and Gaia, were born in December 2013, less than a year after Land and Ramirez married. Their arrival made Land a father of three.

Kai Miles Land has also appeared in entertainment-related records. He has been credited in acting projects, meaning that he has some connection to the same creative industry as his parents.

Is Bev Land Related to the Founder of Aflac?

Yes. Public reporting about his 2013 marriage identifies Bev Land as the grandson of John Beverly Amos, the businessman who founded Aflac with his brothers.

John Beverly Amos was a prominent businessman and civic leader in Georgia. Historical records identify him as a founder of the American Family Life Assurance Company, now known as Aflac, which was established in Columbus, Georgia, in 1955.

This family connection is sometimes included in biographies of Bev Land, but it should not overshadow his own professional identity. Land chose a career in entertainment rather than becoming publicly known for working in the family insurance business.

What Is Bev Land’s Net Worth?

Bev Land’s exact net worth has not been publicly confirmed by a reliable financial source. Various celebrity websites publish estimated figures, but those numbers are not official financial disclosures and should not be treated as verified.

His work as a director, writer, producer, and actor has provided him with a career in entertainment, but there is not enough reliable public financial information to establish a precise personal net worth.

What Is Bev Land Doing Now?

As of 2026, Bev Land does not have a major new film or television project that can be reliably confirmed through the strongest publicly available entertainment records reviewed for this biography. His most prominent documented feature-film work remains Lycan, while his public profile continues to be associated with filmmaking and his family life with Dania Ramirez.

Because Land has maintained a relatively private public presence, it is better not to speculate about unannounced projects, business activities, or personal plans.

Why Is Bev Land Famous?

Bev Land is best known for three connected reasons: his work as an independent filmmaker, his direction of Lycan, and his marriage to actress Dania Ramirez.

His career includes acting, writing, producing, and directing, while his personal life connects him to both Ramirez and actress Sharon Leal. That combination makes his biography particularly interesting to readers searching for information about celebrity families and entertainment-industry relationships.
